David Weiden Biography

David Weiden was the leader of the Netscape Directory and Security division, which is considered one of the first navigators to support Linux and open source codes. After this experience, David took the opportunity to be the person in charge of AOL’s two products divisions: Communications Community and Instant Messaging, exceeding more than 50 million users around the world. Later David became a member of Tellme Networks, serving as the SVP of marketing and business development. During this time, the company started employing a quantitative framework known as “Rifle”, helping the company raise more than 100$ million in revenue and securing profitability. Afterwards, Microsoft became interested and bought Tellme.

David’s wide range of investments incorporates software related to the internet, digital media and communication services. Magazines such as Forbes and Fortune praised him as one of the best investor younger than 40 years old.

He grew up in Seattle and studied and graduated from Harvard receiving the highest honor “magna cum laude” in Organizational Behavior and economics major. David also took additional engineering courses at MIT and NYU. He resides in Portola Valle, California with his family.
