Dick Rutan is a California born, retired United States Air Force pilot, Dick Rutan is a record-breaking aviator who, along with co-pilot Jeana Yeager, flew the Voyager aircraft around the world without stopping. Dick Rutan’s love for the skies was kindled early, and at the young age of 19, he joined the Air Force as a Cadet later rising to become an Air Force Lieutenant. His younger brother, aerospace designer Burt Rutan, also shared a passion for aviation. Notably, Dick Rutan pioneered the application of tactical jets for forwarding air control for Airborne missions in the Vietnam War and was one of the founders of the “Mistys” of Operation Commando Sabre.
