Jeff Goldsmith Biography

Jeff Goldsmith is a native of Portland, Oregon, and lives in Charlottesville, Virginia. Jeff Goldsmith is the president of Health Future, Inc. and National Advisor Navigant Healthcare. He earned a doctorate in sociology from the University of Chicago in 1973, studying the morphology of complex organizations, the sociology of different professions and the politics of developing nations. In 1970, he graduated from Reed College, majoring in Psychology and Classics. In 1971, he earned a fellowship in graduate study at the Woodrow Wilson Fellowship.Jeff was a lecturer at the University of Chicago, in the Graduate School of business from 1979 to 1990. He had also lectured in various other universities including the Wharton school of finance, Washington University, John Hopkins and the University of California at Berkeley.He has earned a lot of recognition including the Corning Award of excellence in health planning from the American Hospital Association’s Society for Healthcare Planning in 1990. Jeff has written six articles for the Harvard Business Review, all turned out excellent. He is also a member of the Health Affairs editorial board. Regarding his personal life, Jeff is an avid snow skier and the father of two sons and a daughter. He also loves to collect American art and artifacts.
