Jill Tarter Biography

Jill Cornell Tarter (conceived January 16, 1944) is an American stargazer best known for her work on the search for extraterrestrial knowledge (SETI). Tarter is the previous chief of the Center for SETI Research, holding the Bernard M. Oliver Chair for SETI at the SETI Institute. Tarter earned a Bachelor of Engineering Physics certificate as an undergrad at Cornell University and as the main lady in the designing project. Her expert enthusiasm for space science developed as she sought after a Master's qualification and Ph.D. at the University of California at Berkeley.
