Maria Zuber Biography

Maria Zuber is a geophysics professor at MIT. She is also the geophysics department’s vice president for research. Zuber oversees a wide range of research laboratories at MIT, including the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research, and the MIT Energy Initiative. Zuber’s own research focuses on planetary geophysics and space based technologies, such as laser systems. She is a historic figure as well, as she is the first woman to lead a NASA planetary mission.
